Hi, I’m Tom Gaumond with G2 Insurance Services. Welcome to our FAQ series, where we answer some of the most common questions people have about working with an independent insurance agency.
A question we hear often is: How many insurance companies do you shop when looking for coverage?
The answer is that it depends on your specific situation.
Many people assume that the more insurance companies an agent shops, the better. In reality, more isn’t always better. The goal isn’t to get quotes from as many companies as possible—it’s to find the companies that are the best fit for your needs.
As an independent agency, we have access to a wide range of insurance carriers. For home and auto insurance alone, we work with numerous highly rated companies, and we have access to many additional specialty carriers as well. However, not every insurance company is the right fit for every customer.
For example, if you’re a real estate professional, restaurant owner, contractor, or operate another specialized business, we’ll focus on the carriers that have experience and competitive programs for your industry. The same applies to personal insurance. Different companies are better suited for different types of homes, vehicles, drivers, and coverage needs.
Rather than overwhelming you with dozens of quotes, we focus on identifying the strongest options and presenting the companies that offer the best combination of coverage, value, and service for your situation.
At G2 Insurance Services, we work with many of the industry’s leading national and regional insurance carriers. Our priority is not quantity—it’s helping you find the right company and the right coverage for your unique needs.
