Hi, I’m Tom Gaumond with G2 Insurance Services. Welcome to our FAQ series, where we answer some of the most common questions people have about working with an independent insurance agency.
One question I hear frequently is: Does it cost a lot to work with an independent insurance agent?
The answer is no. In most cases, it doesn’t cost you anything out of pocket to work with an independent insurance agent. Independent agents are compensated by the insurance companies they represent, not by their clients.
When you work with G2 Insurance Services, we take the time to gather your information, understand your needs, compare coverage options, and communicate with insurance companies on your behalf. We handle the research, quote comparisons, applications, and policy details to help you find coverage that fits your situation. All of this is included as part of our service.
Many of the insurance companies we work with rely on independent agencies like ours to connect them with customers. In many cases, we serve as their sales and service team, helping clients navigate the insurance process and find the right coverage.
Another common question is whether independent agents recommend policies based on which company pays the highest commission. The answer is no. Compensation is generally very similar among insurance carriers, so there is little incentive to favor one company over another.
Our focus is on finding the most competitive coverage and the best overall value for you. Rather than making a one-time sale, our goal is to build a long-term relationship and be a trusted resource for your insurance needs for years to come.
